The Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center

Auburn University Virtual Tour

The latest installment of a developing arts district at Auburn University, The Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center is an 85,000 gross square feet facility consisting of a multi-purpose performance hall, a flexible second venue and outdoor amphitheater, and public front-of-house and technical back-of-house support spaces. This virtual live tour will feature a mixture of produced video and live feed to offer an overview of the planning and architectural considerations involved in the design of a community-facing building.

The executive director of the Gogue Center will provide additional insight on how programming and facility use has adapted during a pandemic, followed by Q&A.

Abstract: Join us for a virtual tour of Wentworth Institute’s newest academic building, the Center for Engineering, Innovation & Sciences (CEIS).

The project team members from upper administration, faculty, the City of Boston, and the architect discuss key priorities ranging from academic and social to campus and the wider city and community, which led to the ground-breaking design. The building opened for classes just over a year before the pandemic hit and the presenters will discuss how the building use shifted to remote and hybrid learning as well as plans going forward.

Hybrid Learning Environments

Delivering the Academic Mission

Recently, Morgan State University began constructing its new Thurgood Marshall residence hall and we'll explore how we used design and technology to support the building's hybrid environment.
Abstract: Student housing is an important factor in achieving institutional goals and outcomes, but residential campuses are grappling with how best to manage the current pandemic while also planning for the future. This session will address how hybrid physical and virtual learning environments can address both of these concerns. Recently, Morgan State University began constructing its new Thurgood Marshall residence hall and we'll explore how we used design and technology to support the building's hybrid environment. Abstract: Universities must reinvent themselves in order to effectively navigate a VUCA world and ensure future success. The pandemic has accelerated trends in higher education, requiring institutions to question the status quo of their organizational structures and related built infrastructure. Using Technology to Facilitate a Safe Return to Campus

Abstract: Like many universities, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by modifying the function and occupation of campus physical spaces. This virtual tour will explore formal learning spaces, the social spaces that connect them, the outdoor built environment, and the COVID-19 response strategies implemented to fulfill the academic and research mission of UIC while protecting the health and safety of the university community.
