Abstract: Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) has transformed its college model to address crucial issues such as demographic changes, meeting the needs of non-traditional students, and empowering underserved populations. To support and provide better access to a wider range of constituents, PGCC is reimagining their campus to elevate the community college experience while exploring the creation of two new full-service campuses. Come learn how the new PGCC campus model is meeting short and long-term needs that will serve broader populations, support evolving academic programs and workforce needs, and reduce educational inequities in the college system.

Esports Streaming Gives the University of Kentucky a New Way to Grow Revenue and Recruit Students

The University of Kentucky understood the importance of technology in preparing students for the digital world. With public-private partnerships, it sought opportunities to be an industry leader in leveraging that capacity for its students, faculty, staff, and the community.

Abstract: The University of Kentucky (UK) and the University of Kentucky Esports Club worked together to establish the University of Kentucky Esports Lounge. Students were surveyed on their gaming needs, and the resulting wish list (i.e., equipment selection, space configuration, furniture, etc.) fed into the decision-making process by all constituents. The project budget was derived by a larger construction project at the University that focused on student recruitment, community, and connection to the non-student demographic. The UK team ultimately planned and launched the custom facility to meet users’ particular needs—while finding a way for the University to produce an additional revenue stream.

Abstract: Students who participate in off-campus programs frequently desire more on-campus integration, but limited financial resources require creative solutions to optimize space utilization and effectiveness. Eastern Michigan University’s College of Business has been located off campus in downtown Ypsilanti since 1991. This session will introduce you to concepts about preparing for adversity. Institutional leaders often rely on ineffective processes for crisis management, but we’ll provide you with a framework and tools that will allow you to more constructively navigate crises.
Abstract: We’re living in challenging times and other crises are sure to follow. Having the proper skills and culture will mean the difference between success and failure. This session will introduce you to concepts about preparing for this adversity. Institutional leaders often rely on ineffective processes for crisis management, but we’ll provide you with a framework and tools that will allow you to more constructively navigate crises. We don’t learn from our experiences—we learn from reflecting on them. Come share and reflect on your experiences with your peers and learn a new framework to help you lead in a crisis.
