Integrated planning for The Kitchens involves community partnerships and collaboration in education, health and wellness, workforce training, and economic revitalization. Abstract: The needs of inner-city community college students are widely varied. Community College of Philadelphia's (CCP) primary function is to provide them with tools and assistance to help them succeed, which is also the purpose of its newly-renovated library. Today's library is no longer just a book repository, but also an important communal hub for students. The transformation of CCP's library will aid a diverse student body with learning, tutoring, research, and social spaces. We'll share new ways for your institution's library to address these student needs and provide them with the best educational and social resources.

Abstract: Panelists Gary David, Bentley University, and Linda Jerrett, Boston University, shared what their campuses are currently doing to not only accommodate students and faculty, but plan for the fall and the future of education technology. They described their approaches to decision making during this time when information is limited and the variables are unknown. This session was moderated by Parke Rhoads, a principal with Vantage Technology Consulting Group, who is an expert in strategic campus technology and is currently working with many higher education institutions during this ‘new normal’.

The Geometry of Learning

Experiences From the Arena Classroom

Abstract: In 2015, Oregon State University's 300- and 600-seat arena classrooms welcomed their first students. Now, we have detailed analysis that measures the effectiveness of these classrooms. This session will discuss optimal pedagogical strategies for round classrooms, explain the IT infrastructure that makes these spaces successful, and provide insight into how data is analyzed for meaningful feedback. We'll share initial research on academic impact, faculty feedback, lessons learned, and next-generation trends in arena classroom design.
