Abstract: This article presents how a small, resource-constrained university leveraged integrated institutional planning to launch a 30-credit completion strategy that significantly improved student momentum, graduation rates, and institutional planning culture. By coordinating cross-functional teams, employing real-time data, and strengthening communication systems, the university built a scalable and sustainable framework that bolstered student retention and completion without requiring new funding or staff. This case offers a roadmap for similarly situated institutions aiming to align credit accumulation initiatives with broader strategic goals to drive measurable student success outcomes.

Abstract: Underlining SCUP's mission-driven commitment to advancing social justice, this keynote panel of presidents and chancellors of minority-serving institutions (MSIs) brings decades of experience leading institutions that support historically underserved, yet high-achieving students. Often underfunded compared to peer institutions that are not MSIs, these institutions provide academically rigorous, yet culturally affirming educational experiences for their students and serve as educational and cultural hubs in communities across the United States. This panel will explore the continuing relevance of MSIs in the current sociopolitical climate and how these institutions can more fully collaborate with each other and with the larger higher education and business sectors.

Abstract: A student’s success and sense of belonging are connected. While campuses invest heavily in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, gaps still exist. Results from a focus group and visual preference survey reveal the role that space plays in how students of color experience belonging on campus. In this session, we’ll share these findings to demonstrate how spatial attributes can help students feel seen, valued, and connected to their campus community. Revitalizing Mid-20th-century Campus Buildings for 21st-century Science

A Unique University Initiative for Adolescent Behavioral Healthcare

Abstract: The Brandt Behavioral Health Treatment Center and Retreat of Rutgers University is the first of its kind. As a unique response to adolescent behavioral health challenges, Rutgers is developing a new clinical and research program along with a two-building on-campus residential and outpatient facility. Delivering a Renovated Learning Commons for an Engaged Academic Community

Abstract: Integrated planning is essential for delivering campus facilities that support institutional vision and create a strong student academic experience. Juniata College was at a crossroads related to vision and curriculum direction while it was launching a comprehensive campaign that prioritized a library renovation. This session will focus on one provost's vision for planning and designing a learning commons around a new curriculum and share post-occupancy data to define what worked. Come learn how the planning, funding, and design process behind this inclusive facility has dramatically increased library use by students, faculty, and outside groups.
