Helen Chu
Senior Director, Learning Spaces
Stanford University
Helen Y. Chu is the Senior Director of Learning Spaces at Stanford University. She co-leads the Stanford Classrooms Reimagined project, charged by the University to develop a ten-year master plan for classrooms and informal learning spaces. She manages classroom design, technologies, furnishings, and technical operations for 190 classrooms and over a hundred informal learning spaces, including the Hub technology help desk, maker space, and the Digital Language Lab. Helen also co-leads the task force coordinating COVID-19 campus recovery for classrooms and informal learning spaces.
Helen is a strong proponent of faculty development, student success and wellness, active teaching and learning, and inclusive, evidence-based pedagogical practices. Helen holds a B.A. and M.A. from UCLA and is pursuing a M.I. from Rutgers University.
