Abstract: This session will focus on the development and use of consistent metrics through the program review process and other key university processes to support integrated planning at the department, school, and university levels. Using coordinated data at multiple levels of an institution can better inform both strategic planning and budget decisions. We'll share successful examples from Northwestern University that you can apply at your institution, including school-level dashboards that inform the annual strategic planning process as well as department-level planning.

Abstract: Despite being constrained by a small, land-locked campus, Northwestern University has added nearly two million gross square feet to its north campus in the last 7 years. Major capital projects have focused on the convergence of academic, research, libraries, athletics, recreation, and support facilities in this compact area of campus. The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for laboratory environments. Labs were shut down in a matter of days to follow the “stay-at-home” order. As we look forward to the reopening of labs post-COVID-19, this webinar will provide some considerations that will guide the creation of a safe and healthy lab environment as well as discussions on real challenges from universities’ perspectives.
