Samuel Hayes
Chief Facilities Officer
College of William and Mary
Mr. Hayes is currently the Chief Facilities Officer at William and Mary where he has responsibility to develop, organize, administer, and evaluate the University’s facilities construction and maintenance programs, which encompasses a $20 million operations and maintenance budget, a $500 million construction program, 244 buildings with over 5.25 million square feet of space.
He has worked as an Assistant Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and served as Agency Director of the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity and Special Assistant to the Governor for Small, Women and Minority Business Development.
He has a Master’s Degree in public administration, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, and Associates in Applied Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology. Hayes is also a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He currently serves on the Advisory Committee for the VUU Sidney Lewis School of Business and is the past President and current board member of the HUB of Hope, a non-profit serving the food insecure in Fredericksburg.
