Robin Tsuchida

Senior Director, Capital Program Management
University of California, San Diego

Ms. Tsuchida joined UC San Diego in 2012 as a Principal Architect.  Since 2017, under her appointment as Senior Director, Project Management of Campus Projects for Capital Program Management, Robin is responsible for strategic management of campus architectural design and construction of capital projects.

She has been a leader on various capital building projects over the past several years, including the integration of the light rail into the campus, Epstein Family Amphitheater Gilman Bridge, Structural Materials and Engineering Building, and the Galbraith Hall Renovation which repurposed the original campus library as well as several seismic upgrade and lab renovation projects for incoming faculty.  In addition, her team supports UCSD’s Real Estate Department and capital program, including public private partnerships.

Her professional career began working for Brian Paul & Associates and later as a Principal for SPGA Architecture & Planning. While with SGPA she worked on diverse projects such as the San Diego International Airport Expansion and Novartis Labs.  Before joining UC San Diego, she worked in the capacity of Vice President for Sundt Construction where she oversaw the business development and marketing functions for the southern California office with a focus on public projects using collaborative delivery methods.

Robin holds a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.  She has earned a Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification and is a LEED accredited professional with the US Green Building Council.
