Patrick Saavedra

Patrick Saavedra is an Architect, Urban Planner and Educator. He is the AVP for Capital Projects Management at Columbia University in New York City. His team manages ~110 projects annually; He is currently providing planning, design, and construction leadership for $1.2B in project value. Previously he was the University Architect for over 14 years at York University. He has over 30 years professional experience leading projects in such places as Dubai, Trinidad & Tobago, Toronto, New York, and Washington DC. Patrick is a member of the AIA, NCARB, SCUP and is a Fellow of the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada. He has a Bachelor of Architectural Science from Toronto Metropolitan University, a Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and Design Studies Certificate from the University of Copenhagen. Patrick has 18 years’ teaching experience at the graduate level and is currently teaching in a post-professional program.
