Monique MacKenzie

Director of Campus and Capital Planning
University of Minnesota

Monique has contributed to key components of capital and campus planning efforts at the University of Minnesota since 2008. In her current position as the Director of Campus and Capital Planning, she leads a team with responsibilities to conduct long range capital planning, define the operational and financial feasibility of capital investments, advance campus master planning and support near term capital project planning and design. These responsibilities apply to all five UMN campuses as well as 10 research and outreach stations. Prior to her tenure at the University of Minnesota, she worked as a long range comprehensive planner for the City of Minneapolis, including lead author of The Minneapolis Plan (2000). She also served as the planning lead for the Hiawatha LRT corridor and station area planning. Monique earned a Masters degree in Urban Planning as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from McGill University in Montreal. She holds the credential of Certified Planner (AICP) as a member of the American Planning Association.
