Michelle Johnson
Vice President of Institutional Resources
Carl Sandberg College
Michelle Johnson brings over three decades of dedicated service to education and human development in her role as Vice President of Institutional Resources at Carl Sandburg College. Her unique blend of therapeutic recreation expertise and organizational leadership has shaped her approach to fostering inclusive learning environments and institutional excellence.
Michelle earned her Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Iowa, where she developed her foundational understanding of human potential and adaptive programming. She furthered her leadership capabilities with a Master’s degree in Organizational Management from Chardon State College. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate of Business from Indiana Wesleyan University, demonstrating her commitment to continuous professional growth and evidence-based leadership practices.
For the past four years, Michelle has served as a DiSC instructor, helping individuals and teams understand communication styles and build more effective working relationships. This role reflects her belief in the transformative power of self-awareness and interpersonal understanding.
As a lifelong learner, Michelle embodies the principle that education never ends. Her fundamental belief that “we all learn from each other” guides her leadership style and shapes her approach to institutional resources management. She creates environments where diverse perspectives are valued and where continuous improvement is not just encouraged but celebrated.
