Matthew leads the Campus Planning and Constructions teams at California State University Monterey Bay, where a young University has arisen from the site of a closed Army base. In his role as Associate Director of Campus Planning, Matthew’s team is responsible for Master Plan updates, major and minor capital construction projects, plans for growing academic programs, ensuring environmental compliance and capital project planning.

After growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, Matthew went to Boston College for a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science, and then graduate school at the University Oregon for a Masters degree in Community and Regional Planning. Matthew worked as a Transportation Planner at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia before starting as the Senior Campus Planner at CSUMB in 2016. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
