Marilou Smith
Senior Project Manager, Facilities Management Office
Villanova University
Marilou Smith is a Senior Project Manager in the Facilities Management Office at Villanova University. She graduated from Villanova University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, is LEED certified and has over 35 years of experience in design, construction, and project management. Marilou has managed a wide range of projects for the University including the construction of the Structural Engineering Teaching and Research Laboratory, Driscoll Hall, a 200,000 square foot renovation to the Mendel Hall Science building, Renovation to (2) 75,000 sf dormitories over (2) summers, keeping the buildings in operation during the school year, a complete Renovation to the University’s Main Dining Hall. Most recently she completed the new development on Lancaster Avenue, which included a new parking lot, a (2) story addition to an existing parking garage on campus, a new 1285 car 5 story parking structure, a new Pedestrian bridge in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Residential housing for 1135 student, multiple Traffic improvement projects and a New Performing Arts Center. This project spanned a 10-year period from conception to completion. It was a $285,000,000 project, the largest Construction project in Villanova’s History. Currently she is working on the new Addition and Renovations to the University’s College of Engineering.
