Dr. Lee Gray
Interim Senior Associate Provost
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Dr. Lee Gray is the Interim Senior Associate Provost at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Professor of Architectural History in the School of Architecture. He received his Ph.D. in architectural history from Cornell University, his Masters in architectural history from the University of Virginia, and undergraduate degrees in architecture from Iowa State University. During his tenure at Charlotte he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Faculty President (2000-2001), Interim University Librarian (2001-2002), Interim Chair of Architecture (2002-2004), Associate Dean in the former College of Architecture (2003-2008), Senior Associate Dean in the College of Arts + Architecture (2008-2022), Interim Director of the School of Architecture (2008-2009), Interim Chair of the Department of Theatre (2015-2016), and Interim Dean of the College of Arts + Architecture (December 2018-September 2019).
