Kathryn Horne
Director of Planning - Campus Architect
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Charlotte, NCKathryn Horne is an architect with over 30 years of experience focused on planning and design of education facilities. As the director of space management at UNC Charlotte and part of the facilities management leadership team, Horne works with the Office of the Provost to lead assessment and programming efforts with constituents from departments across campus to understand their programmatic and space needs and facilitate solutions. Horne earned her architecture degrees at NC State University and Clemson University. She was a partner at The FWA Group. Prior to joining UNC Charlotte, Horne was a senior planner at Georgia Institute of Technology.
Horne is involved with local and regional organizations in volunteer and leadership roles. She has served on the AIA NC Board of Directors, as the first woman president of AIA Charlotte, on the SCUP Southern Regional Council, as the 2016 Southern Regional Conference chair, and as a program chair for Leadership Charlotte.
