John Fogarty
Director, Capital Planning
Stony Brook University
Port Jefferson, NYJohn Fogarty has been director of capital planning at Stony Brook University for seven years. He is responsible for the planning and design management of large capital building and infrastructure projects. Fogarty was heavily involved in the planning and development of the university’s new Research and Development Park campus, including the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center, and the recently completed Center for Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology building. He is currently working on a new computer science building, some major building renovations, and some new residential buildings for the campus. Prior to joining Stony Brook, he was responsible for space planning, renovation, and design for the University of Chicago’s medical school and its biological sciences division. An architect by training, Fogarty graduated with a master’s of architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and worked for large architectural firms for 20 years.
