Fernando Chapa is a higher education administrator dedicated to advancing student success through data-driven strategies and equitable policies. As Dean of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Strategic Planning at South Texas College, he leads efforts to align institutional goals with its mission, vision, and values. Fernando has played a key role in developing the college’s Strategic Plan and successfully guided the institution through its 2021 accreditation reaffirmation. In addition to his leadership roles, Fernando served as a Policy Fellow with Excelencia in Education, contributing to initiatives that highlight the value of community colleges and advocate for policies supporting all student populations. Guided by a belief in education as a transformative force, Fernando is committed to shaping institutional effectiveness and fostering opportunities for all students.
