Erica Caloiero moved into the Vice Provost for Student Affairs role in January 2021, first as interim and subsequently as appointed. Prior to that, she served as the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Director of Student Services in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the Director of International Education at Lehigh University – where she developed a taste for predictive modeling and risk management.

As a member of the Provost’s senior leadership team, Erica helps shape the overall foundation and direction for the student experience at UVM, integrating curricular and co-curricular experiences. She is provides leadership to ensure the effective coordination and execution of student affairs priorities, programs and services to achieve a campus experience of health, engagement, and success. Underpinning her work is a career commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion focused on the support and retention of students, with particular success in improving the outcomes of students whose backgrounds are underrepresented in higher education.

She is a mediocre barista, an avid Nordic skier, and loves being part of the college journey with students. She enjoys historical non-fiction, administrative transparency, and delegating car maintenance to anyone who will help.
