David S. Hood serves as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Educational Leadership at Minnesota State University, Mankato. His research interests include retention and student success, college access, mentoring, and academic advising structures. Over his career, he has secured over $9.2 million dollars to support student success initiatives. Hood serves on the Minnesota State University, Mankato Blue Cross Blue Shield Rural Behavior Health Center Board. Dr. Hood earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education (Biology and History) from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University and his Master of Education, Education Specialist and Doctor of Education in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University.
