Austin Sakong

Austin Sakong is the Design Director of FXCollaborative’s Cultural and Educational Studio, where he works with mission-driven institutions and non-profits. His recent and current projects include the renovation of 1 Pace Plaza East into a new creative and performing arts hub at Pace University; the Kingsbridge Armory Redevelopment, a transformation of an historic Bronx landmark into a dynamic cultural destination; and the Climate Museum, a new center for art, learning, and action around the climate crisis. Austin teaches at the College of Arts and Sciences at NYU, and the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University. He has served as a Commissioner on the Jersey City Historic Preservation Commission since 2017, and has been an active presence in a number of community advocacy groups and initiatives in Jersey City, where he has lived since 2005. Austin received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Cooper Union, and his Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University.
