Amy Díaz
Chief of Staff, Office of the Chancellor
Indiana University Northwest
Amy Díaz is the Chief of Staff and an integral member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet at Indiana University Northwest, a federally designated Hispanic Serving and Minority Serving Institution. As part of the executive leadership team, she facilitates effective planning and implementation of strategic initiatives, and enhances collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Her experience developing operating plans, departmental policies, organizational budgets, and implementing organizational improvements are rooted in synergistic cross functional, cross-sectional, and data driven competencies. Central to her work, is her commitment to the inclusion and advancement of underrepresented groups in academic life and collaborative work to address issues of social justice. She serves on a variety of committees that intersect across all campus departments, including the Strategic Planning Committee.
Before joining IU Northwest, she served in a similar capacity to three successive Deans at DePaul University in the Driehaus College of Business in Chicago, IL. Key to her role was creating a Dean’s Office and College that was diverse, welcoming, and student-centered as an example to the campus community. In her decade at the university, she was a leader in operations and strategy, as well as supported the development and execution of two strategic plans. She also served as a member of the College’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee working toward inclusive leadership, faculty hiring, representation, and service delivery.
Threaded throughout her professional career is values centered servant leadership. Amy was a 2019 Multicultural Leadership Academy Fellow with the Latino Policy Forum and is an active member of the University of Chicago Civic Leadership Development Exchange. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Anthropology and Master of Public Administration from DePaul University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership and Innovation at New York University.
