Ron McCoy

University Architect
Princeton University

Ron McCoy was appointed University Architect at Princeton University in August, 2008.  He provides overall guidance for the planning, architecture and landscape of the Princeton campus. He was part of the facilities team that delivered dozens of major new projects that were envisioned in the 2016 campus plan. He led the effort to create the 2026 Campus Plan, which provides a comprehensive planning framework. Ron provides overall design leadership of the current generation of capital projects, providing over 3 million s.f. of development that have been designed to meet the University’s strategic priorities.

Prior to joining Princeton, Ron served as University Architect at Arizona State University, overseeing approximately 6 million s.f. of new construction, including the creation of a new campus in downtown Phoenix.  At ASU, he was Professor and Director of the School of Architecture.

Ron was elected to the AIA College of Fellows in 2007 and received the AIA Arizona Architects Medal in 2006. He received a BS in Architecture from the University of Southern California and a Master of Architecture from Princeton University. When is schedule allows, he teaches a Freshman Seminar entitled, “Architecture and the American College Campus”.
