Kevin Petersen
Kevin Petersen is a principal at Ayers Saint Gross who leads planning and architecture projects. He has helped educational institutions optimize space to leverage interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen their campuses. With expertise in both architecture and planning, he tackles large, complex projects at every stage: from strategy to implementation. Over the past decade, he has led strategic facility planning, space-use analysis and programming, campus planning, and architectural design efforts on campuses throughout the United States and internationally.
Kevin feels strongly that the context and culture of an institution should be considered in every design decision to achieve results that are tailored to each client’s unique needs. He finds it most exciting when he can engage clients in the planning process and find true consensus on how to move forward with the integration of graphic and data analyses, comprehensive problem-solving, and design excellence. Some of his projects include work at Vanderbilt University, the University of Notre Dame, Wake Forest University, Swarthmore College, the University of Tennessee, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, King’s College London, and a new campus for the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Guangzhou, China.
