Mark D’Amico

Professor of Higher Education
UNC Charlotte

Mark D’Amico is a Professor of Higher Education at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His research centers on community college student success and workforce education, and he currently leads a team at UNC Charlotte capturing the experiences of vertical transfer students in North Carolina with support from the John M. Belk Endowment.  Mark also co-leads a national project on noncredit community college education which has been funded by the National Science Foundation and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  He is past-president of the Council for the Study of Community Colleges, an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges, and serves on the Advisory Board of Commissioners for myFutureNC, the organization working to advance North Carolina toward its educational attainment goal.  Prior to his faculty position, Mark was Executive Assistant to the President of the South Carolina Technical College System and Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC and held a variety of roles in university admissions.
