Marie-Christine Potvin
Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy
Thomas Jefferson University
Dr. Potvin is an occupational therapist with twenty-three years of clinical experience. She is Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University, where she has received grants for projects on topics including designing learning environments that support neurodiversity. Dr. Potvin is certified in Sensory Integration Assessment and Intervention, an area of occupational therapy practice related to understanding how neurodiversity affects a person’s day to day functioning, and she an experienced speaker with over thirty national and international presentations. An accomplished scholar, she has published thirteen peer-reviewed articles, two book chapters and three professional magazine articles including “Considering Students’ Neurodiversity: The Next Imperative When Designing Active Learning Environments,” published in Learning by Design this year. Dr. Potvin earned her Doctorate in Rehabilitation Sciences from McGill University and did her post-doctoral fellowship at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Vermont.
