Lisa Guion Jones has over 20 years of experience in higher education. She serves as associate provost for strategy and special assistant to the president at University of Central Florida (UCF), a position she’d held since August 2016. She works closely with UCF’s faculty, staff, and key leaders across campus to facilitate the institutionalization of the new collective impact strategic plan. She developed a framework, processes, templates, and other resources to facilitate development of a UCF institutionalization plan that will be forthcoming. Jones also works to improve knowledge sharing, collaboration, collective thinking, collective action, and co-ownership of university-wide priority metrics. At UCF, she also leads an institution-wide effort to create a more comprehensive and collaborative approach to community engagement.

Jones is a professor in the College of Education and Human Performance. She was an Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership Fellow (2016-17), a former American Council on Education Fellow and Food Systems Leadership Fellow, and a graduate of the Harvard Management and Leadership in Education program. Jones earned a bachelor’s in business administration, a master’s in public administration specializing in higher education administration, and a doctorate in education in 1997, focused on adult and higher education, all from NC State University.
