Note: It's time to spring ahead (sunshine and flowers here we come!). Sunday, March 10, is the start of daylight savings time and the start of another great conference! We can't wait to see you there.
The SCUP 2019 North Atlantic Regional Conference is coming to Rochester, NY to explore how colleges and universities, including the University of Rochester, serve as catalysts for local and regional transformation, innovation, and revitalization.
Throughout its 168-year history, the University of Rochester has made significant economic, educational, social, and cultural contributions to the Rochester community and to the state of New York. The university is the largest private employer in the region and seventh largest in the state. The university, along with its associated medical center, has positioned itself as one of the leading higher education and research institutions in the world today.
Your colleagues will share stories of how integrated planning sparks transformation, innovation, and revitalization—not only on campus, but also within the surrounding community, city, and region.
Our hosts at the University of Rochester have put their efforts into planning a conference that is not to be missed!
On Sunday evening, the opening keynote and welcome reception will offer an opportunity to be on the University of Rochester campus. The remainder of the conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency Rochester/Riverside Convention Center, which sits alongside the Genesee River in the heart of downtown Rochester, just minutes from the University of Rochester Campus.
In addition to keynotes, workshops, and learning, we are offering several tours that will include walking tours of the University of Rochester Campus, which will take you to a variety of new student life and academic teaching facilities.
Note: Plan to arrive on Friday or Saturday before the conference so you can take advantage of the many unique offerings in the city, including the Strong National Museum of Play, The George Eastman House, and the Memorial Art Gallery—not to mention, Niagara Falls is just 90 minutes away!
Please come to join other higher education leaders as they share their planning success stories, approaches, and strategies. We hope you will leave Rochester with new contacts as well as fresh and relevant planning ideas and tools to incorporate in your everyday work and share with your colleagues.
