If you’re up for a little fun competition or just want to have a great time with other attendees, plan to join us for two exciting activities (Daily Step Goal Challenge and/or Design Showdown) as part of your SCUP 2024 Annual Conference experience! All proceeds support The SCUP Fund.

“Not your typical $9.00 to 5k” Daily Step Goal Challenge


Get your steps in and support a great cause at this year’s SCUP Annual Conference! In addition to promoting physical activity and making new friends through daily step challenges, this fun competition gives back directly to initiatives that benefit our members and profession.

How it Works

  • The challenge is live from Sunday through Tuesday of the conference
  • For every 5,000 steps you hit, you’ll be entered into prize drawings. There will also be a grand prize winner for the person with the highest step count over the three-day period. Winners will be announced via Social Media following the conference!

Fees

  • $9 to enter the challenge
  • We also encourage you to pledge per step (optional) to give back to research, programs, and initiatives to help higher education professionals in shaping a future that is inclusive, innovative, and responsive. All contributions benefit the SCUP Fund!

Where do I sign up?

Sign up & pay at the following locations/times:

  • Sunday: SCUP Info Desk (in the Community Lounge across from Registration)
  • Monday: SCUP Fund Booth in the Commons
  • Tuesday: SCUP Fund Booth in the Commons (before 1:30 PM)

How to Log Your Steps

Check-in at the SCUP Fund Booth in the SCUP Commons and show your step count, tracked in any fitness app.

Community Connection Event: Visit the Rocky Stairs! Join fellow SCUP attendees for a group walk to the iconic Rocky Steps on Monday at 6:00 PM. Meet in the Grand Hall of the Convention Center to walk together, get your steps in, and connect with other attendees.

LEGO Dreamscape: Design Showdown


Unleash your creative genius and competitive side! Tap into your creative vision by constructing an innovative design using only Legos. Teams will have all day Monday to build their structures, and all conference attendees will be invited to vote on their favorite(s) during the Social in the SCUP Commons on Monday evening.

How it Works

  • Teams of up to 4 people
  • Each team will build their design on Monday, from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Please feel free to leave to attend sessions and come back to building your designs as you’re able to!
  • Winners will be judged by audience vote and announced at the Closing Keynote on Tuesday and via Social Media following the conference!

Fees

  • $40 per team to enter the competition (includes 1 scoop of legos)
  • $10 per additional scoop of legos
  • We also encourage you to pledge a donation (optional) to give back to research, programs, and initiatives to help higher education professionals in shaping a future that is inclusive, innovative, and responsive. All contributions benefit the SCUP Fund!

Voting

  • Voting will occur during the Social in the SCUP Commons on Monday from 4:00 – 5:30 PM
  • Voting will be $1/vote; you may purchase as many votes as you’d like. Remember, all proceeds support the SCUP Fund!
  • All conference attendees are eligible to vote.
