New Gateways to Academe: Visitor Centers

Visitor centers are becoming a more common feature of college and university campuses. Such a center provides a central starting point for visitors and typically is planned in conjunction with the admissions and financial aid offices. Other institutions’ centers are sports-related or function as mini-museums highlighting an institution’s history or strengths. Where to locate such a center and how to determine its focus are fundamental questions addressed by the author.
