In a rapidly evolving world, higher education institutions can use scenario planning as an effective tool to navigate unprecedented challenges and opportunities. Unfortunately, traditional scenario planning can also be a laborious, time-intensive process that many colleges and universities don’t have the resources to undertake.

Enter Artificial Intelligence (AI).

AI tools—particularly generative AI—can expedite the scenario planning process, allowing your institution to benefit from scenario planning’s insights in less time (and fewer meetings).

In this interactive online workshop, we will explore the power of scenario planning and harness AI tools to better prepare for an uncertain future, streamlining and enhancing the scenario planning process.

Designed for administrators, faculty, and other higher education professionals, this workshop will enhance your strategic foresight capabilities. You will gain practical experience in AI-assisted scenario planning and a framework for applying these techniques in your institutional context.

This workshop offers a hands-on, collaborative experience to apply scenario planning techniques enhanced by generative AI. Through interactive sessions, you’ll identify key drivers impacting higher education’s future, develop scenario frameworks, and craft detailed narratives of potential futures. By the end, you’ll understand how to leverage this AI-augmented approach to anticipate challenges, devise robust strategies, and make informed decisions in an uncertain landscape.

Upon completion, you will be equipped to:

  • Apply the principles and purpose of scenario planning.
  • Analyze key drivers and uncertainties impacting the future of higher education.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance the scenario planning process and generate insights.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop scenario frameworks and narratives.
