Assessment in higher education is more than a compliance exercise—it’s a tool for improving teaching, learning, and institutional effectiveness. Yet, balancing accountability requirements with a culture of continuous improvement can be challenging. This working group offers a collaborative space to share experiences, strategies, and challenges related to academic and co-curricular assessment. Guided by an experienced facilitator, participants will explore ways to make assessment meaningful, actionable, and aligned with institutional priorities.
Who Is This For?
This working group is for higher education professionals who lead or coordinate academic or co-curricular assessment on their campuses and want peer support to strengthen their practice. You’ll find it especially valuable if you:
- Are a faculty member, staff member, or administrator actively engaged in academic or co-curricular assessment.
- Work in institutional effectiveness, accreditation, or related roles focused on assessment and improvement.
- Serve as an assessment coordinator or as a member of an assessment committee.
- Are a leader looking to better connect assessment results to planning, resource allocation, and decision-making.
Benefits
- Discover approaches to designing assessment processes that drive improvement.
- Strengthen skills in using data for continuous improvement.
- Build a peer network for sharing resources, tools, and solutions.
