2010 Pacific Regional Conference Spotlight
Join us in La Jolla: April 5–7, 2010 for the SCUP Pacific Regional Conference!
"Smart Planning in an Era of Uncertainty–New Tools and Strategies"
La Jolla, CA (‘The Jewel’ in Spanish) is located 15 minutes from downtown San Diego and is one of southern California’s most popular vacation spots. It has beautiful beaches, cultural activities, fine restaurants, and is a wonderful combination of a southern European resort atmosphere and Southern California fun. While La Jolla is known to be one of the most affluent communities in the United States, it has a down to earth feel due to the beautiful natural scenery and the helpfulness of its residents. Moreover, in addition to fine restaurants, beautiful beaches, hotels and art galleries, La Jolla is home to renowned institutions, such as the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Stephen Birch Aquarium & Museum, as well as the University of California, San Diego. Furthermore, La Jolla is home to many Bio-Tech and software companies. In short, La Jolla is a great place in which to live, visit, or do business. We have many great tours and events planned, so join us in La Jolla in 2010!

Recent Call for Proposals Theme:
"Smart Planning in an Era of Uncertainty–New Tools and Strategies"
The last two years have created an era of uncertain financial stability. No sector of higher education has been spared the effects of the recession. New attitudes, tools, and strategies have emerged in response to current threats and opportunities. Whether small or large, public or private, your institution can benefit from new paradigms created to address funding, resource allocation, capital investment, pedagogy, and technology based on creativity and thrift. This conference will focus on charting new courses during unprecedented challenging times.
