Join your SCUP Mid-Atlantic regional colleagues at Drexel University in Philadelphia March 23–25, 2014, as we examine ENGAGEMENT as a way of fostering and shaping the higher education landscape. We will derive our themes from institutional challenges that Drexel faces and how this institution is engaging its internal community and external partners to address these challenges to remain academically relevant, vital, and visible:

Entrepreneurship (Innovation Neighborhood): Increasing the value of higher education through research, creativity, tech transfer, and design advanced through strategic academic, institutional, and partnership initiatives.
Improving Institutional Effectiveness: Measuring efficiencies, creating budget models, employing best practices, and measuring again.
Engaging Students: Exploring models for effective experiential learning, teaching, and research.
Academic Program Realignment: Reviewing, and reallocating resources.
Campus Renewal: Partnering to develop space, redesigning, and repurposing existing facilities, and integrating strategic and master planning.

Utilizing the vibrant, energized urban campus of Drexel University, we will start with sessions and program tours that address how this institution recognized and addressed obstacles, challenges, or opportunities within each of the above themes.

We are the SCUP benchmark for producing conferences that are interactive, thought-provoking, and collaborative, so we continue to favor concurrent sessions that engage the audience and encourage active participation. We hope to see you in the birthplace of our nation’s democracy!
