Dynamic and creative campuses are those where connections—both internal and external—are encouraged, fostered, and enhanced. We will focus on these three examples:
A comprehensive residential life building program incorporates student engagement space not only in new buildings, but in revitalized older ones as well.
A community-based medical school combines the advancement of scientific knowledge with a targeted, prioritized approach to the public health needs of its surrounding community.
A university receives the Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and re-imagines its civic role.
Creating and nurturing these connections will be the focus of this stimulating symposium.
