Mission of SCUP Regions: The regions facilitate programmatic exchanges, people connections, and volunteer and leadership development at the grassroots level.
The regional chairs shall be responsible for communications with members in their regions, membership recruitment and retention, programming, and other society activities as determined by the board of directors. Regional chairs are elected by members of their respective regions and serve for a single three-year term.
Regional chairs serve on the SCUP Council. The purpose of the council is to provide knowledge, expertise, and insight into the society’s understanding of the current and future environment and develop an integrated plan that advances the society’s strategic plan and the strategic direction and priorities identified by the board.
For SCUP’s regions to deliver a consistently broad range of programs and services to its members there are several functional areas that must be addressed by regional leadership in collaboration with SCUP staff:
