At DSK, the successful candidate will be joining a team of talented individuals who are passionate about providing their clients the highest quality planning and design. We have a full-time position for an experienced, capable, and detail-oriented Senior Planner in our Concord office.

Job Duties

– Collaborate on Firm projects, including programming, planning, conceptual design, schematic design,
and design development
– Provide design leadership to team members for all phases of the project from conception through
construction
– Prepare, develop, and monitor, with team members as appropriate, conceptual
designs, material, and concept presentations
– Partner with contractors, consultants, and vendors to meet project expectations
– Conceptualize, design, and detail custom product solutions when appropriate
– Create 2d and 3d analytical and conceptual drawings, graphics, digital and physical models
– Provide research and graphic design support on master planning and space programming feasibility
studies
– Analyze various datasets, including campus space, scheduling, and financial modeling
– Prepare presentations that help our clients understand issues and potential solutions
– Present ideas and materials to various client groups, including students, faculty, senior leadership, and
board members
– Develop project summary reports, organizing graphics and text to support project outcomes
– Maintain working knowledge of current techniques, products, materials, and systems
– Employ advanced sustainability planning practices
– Mentor junior staff
– Contribute to office activities, Firm initiatives, and professional development
– Forecast and Manage project budgets while meeting established targets
– Ability to bring in new gross revenue fees, increasing annually
– Project management including coordination and running of work sessions and meetings, developing
meeting minutes and notes, and multiple forms of communication
– Other duties as required

Required Qualifications

– Bachelor’s or Higher degree with 7+ years’ experience in planning, architecture, and/or urban design
– Able to use a variety of communication and media techniques in the development and documentation
of a planning and design project
– Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently
– Must manage multiple projects in various stages of development
– Able to take initiative and action in response to direction or instruction
– Excellent organizational and presentation skills and written/verbal communication skills
– Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
– Willingness to listen, support and learn from all members of the team
– Assumes responsibility by taking initiatives independent of others
– Excellent communication skills to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally
– Works proactively in solving problems and takes action beyond normal responsibilities
– Demonstrated ability to successfully bring to fruition all financial aspects of running a planning project
on time and on budget
– Proficiency with Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
required
– LEED AP ID+C accreditation preferred [or similar Planning Accreditation]
