This position is responsible for overall management of OHSU’s leased property activities under the direction of the Director for Campus Planning and Real Estate. This position works closely and collaboratively with campus leadership and staff across departmental lines and mission areas to achieve the strategic goals of the OHSU lease portfolio and OHSU lease collaborations with Hillsboro Medical Center, Adventist Medical, Legacy and Mid Columbia Medical Center portfolios.
This position manages the OHSU leased space portfolio (leasing activity and lease administration). Oversees the delivery of the following real estate services: selecting brokers, handling the search, negotiation and development of lease documents for new and existing lease property; acting as senior property manager for all leased sites; coordination of lease construction projects or tenant improvements, managing lease compliance, tenant relations including research of potential new tenants in OHSU owned and leased sites (background, business type, financial position, suitability, etc. prior to occupancy) and tenant problem resolution.
Other areas of management includes participation in developing the department budget, development of lease rate comparables, project coordination and oversight of other property management services at OHSU locations where these services are contracted out to third party entities (e.g. Bancroft, CHH, 3030 Moody Building, and student housing in Southern Oregon, etc.). This position works closely with many OHSU departments, especially OHSU Legal, Risk Management, Design & Construction, Central Financial Services, Hospital Financial Services, Facilities & Real Estate, ITG, Transportation & Parking, and Logistics.
Bachelors degree (masters preferred), and at least 7 years of management experience.
5 years commercial real estate brokerage, facilities management and/or property management experience. This is to include extensive experience overseeing facilities renovation and construction, site preparation, tenant improvements, and building operations and maintenance.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to express complicated information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to research, interpret and apply complex information and data and to create and present statistical and technical reports. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and ability to self-prioritize to meet deadlines. Strong computer skills (advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, etc.). Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
