Job Duties

Assessment

• Develop and implement data collection methods to assess the effectiveness of RISE programs in terms of impacts on learning outcomes, student engagement, course passage rates, closing equity gaps in retention and completion, post-graduation employment, etc.
• Develop the field scan survey to examine the state of project-based learning across the landscape of US higher education, a key deliverable for the Institutional Transformation Using Project-Based Learningaward from the National Science Foundation
• Adapt assessment strategies for multiple different contexts: develop and track metrics for a wide variety of outcomes from student satisfaction with career appointments to cognitive and non-cognitive gains from participating in first-year seminars to the impact of participating in high-impact practices on long-term post-graduation outcomes
• Create data visualizations and reports for multiple audiences, including college leadership, funders, and community partners
• Coordinate cross-RISE assessment projects
• Direct the work of student interns working on assessment projects
• Analyze data to support high-level strategic planning efforts across RISE, including program review of the Experiential Learning Department and RISE contributions to BC reports to state agencies and accreditors
• Support college-wide efforts to assess general education learning outcomes

Grant Management and Development

• Assist the Director of Program Management with the management of the Institutional Transformation Using Project-Based Learningaward
• Help manage a variety of other grants and awards from city, state, and federal agencies, as well as from corporations and foundations
• Monitor budget expenditures and make recommendations for spending plans and grant subawards; process purchase orders, reimbursements and other budget-related items
• Collect and analyze data, create data visualizations, and contribute to reports to funders
• Help research, plan, and write new funding proposals

Other

• Provide assessment and high-level administrative support to BC faculty and RISE staff in their efforts to expand student participation in high-impact practices
• Create and manage intranet and public-facing web content to facilitate communication, recordkeeping, and disseminating project results
• Support events that help RISE meet its mission, including the quarterly Making Learning Visible celebration of teaching and learning, other student showcases, and job/internship/volunteer fairs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in any field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Proficient with data analysis techniques and tools, including expertise with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Tableau
• At least one (1) year of experience collecting and analyzing data needed for learning outcomes assessment and/or program evaluation
• At least two (2) years of experience managing multifaceted projects
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
