Now in its fourth century, the university combines the best features of an undergraduate college with the opportunities offered by a modern research university.

The College of William & Mary values diversity and invites applications from underrepresented groups who will enrich the research, teaching and service missions of the university. The College is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and encourages applications from women, minorities, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

Job Duties

Project Managers report directly to the Director of Facilities Planning, Design, and Construction and interact directly with clients, designers, builders, code review authorities, operators, and senior administrators on a regular basis. Project Managers play a pivotal role in planning and executing the university’s new construction and renovation program as outlined in the 2015 Campus Master Plan. William & Mary Project Managers typically lead projects from inception through final completion. Project Managers balance scope, schedule, and budget on an ongoing basis. Managing scope and schedule expectations with the many stakeholders involved in university projects is vitally important and, with projects funded through a variety of sources, financial accountability must be maintained at all times.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience, experience managing the design and construction of projects up to $25 million (Project Manager) or up to $100 million (Senior Project Manager), comprehensive knowledge of project planning and development, contract management, design management, and construction management with experience in integrated project delivery, the ability to coordinate the development of project scopes/programs and to develop realistic project budgets and schedules, demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize, delegate and supervise work, demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of constituencies using strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. The salary for a Project Manager is up to $82,000 or for a Senior Project Manager up to $95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
