Job Duties

BC Student Mentors who join our MCS Connects program:

• Value education, diversity, inclusion and equity
• Have an intrinsic desired to help others and to see them succeed
• Provide guidance and support for a smooth college transition
• Connect students to vital services on campus
• Develop, nurtures and maintain good professional relationships with mentee
• Foments a sense community and belonging
• Participate in trainings, programs and activities related to the mentoring program
• Attend individual and group meetings with the Lead Mentor and MCS Staff
• Serves as a positive role models for other students

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled BC Student who has successfully completed 30 college credits or more
• Be in good standing with the college
• Ability and desire to work with a diverse group of students
• Available for trainings and other meetings
• Accessible to mentees
• Committed to carry on the Mission of Multicultural Services
• Demonstrate professional conduct
• Demonstrate ability to maintain a mentor log and provide monthly summary on the mentoring experience
