This position is located at the University Services Building, 1551 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ (on Rural Road south of Apache Blvd).
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license (minimum of Class D) upon employment and maintain throughout employment. Post-offer of employment, selected candidate must possess an acceptable driving record which is 5 or fewer points in the most recent 39 month period from date of hire.
This position is dependent on the continuation of funding from a specific source other than general operating funds. As such, this appointment may terminate when the funding is no longer available.

FDM Office of Univ Architect
Facilities Development and Management seeks a Move Coordinator for the Office of the University Architect to coordinate, budget, schedule and implement all physical move processes for the University, assuring maximum customer service and minimum loss of productivity.

Meet with campus users to define the project scope, assess needs, and review with administration for approval. Work with stakeholders, internal and external vendors to budget, schedule, and implement minor renovations required to complete move management projects. Support all projects through implementation to ensure that all aspects of intended program are implemented and controlled as approved by University administration. Coordinate the installation of modular and other types of furniture for assigned project. Coordinate move logistics, scheduling and communication between project team members and stakeholders and report progress. Coordinate furniture installations in new construction projects, renovations, and cyclical replacements. Conduct space feasibility and utilization studies and prepare reports on findings. Coordinate furniture inventory to include new purchases and maintenance and repair of existing furniture. Maintain existing furniture warehouse stock and coordinate access to and from this facility. Provide architectural design assistance and interpretation to campus clients during the construction phase to facilitate the successful occupancy of new spaces. Assist management in identifying problems, trends, and best practice processes/procedures and make recommendations accordingly. Develop and maintain move management manual establishing standards and control of all move projects. Participate in the development and implementation of guidelines for installation of furnishings campus wide. Obtain information for updating facilities space inventory system and submit in a timely manner for system updates.
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; scheduled early and late hours dependent on needs of the job.
Activities can be performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking at job sites with intervals in a typical seasonal Arizona climate. Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Extended hours for the facilitation of moves during off-main working hours are common and will be off-set with other scheduled time off. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing, to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks. Drive University vehicle.
Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Experience with architectural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical drawings.
Experience creating interior space plans showing furniture and equipment layouts.
Experience in working with move management and furniture/fixture installations in a University setting or similar fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of building code compliance and ADA accessibility standards.
Knowledge of sustainable practices.
Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
