Job Duties
Essential Performance Requirements
• Prepares student enrollment projections; analyzes new development information and determines development of appropriate space; update site capacities and long-range facilities planning requirements
• Prepares facilities requirement projections to establish eligibility for specific construction or renovation projects
• Assists in the execution of site acquisitions in coordination with consultants, appraisers, legal counsel, title companies and property owners or occupants, including appraisal procurement and evaluation, escrow initiation procedures, and preparation of documents for execution
• Coordinates planning of additions and modifications to the District’s classroom program
• Participates in site map development
• Maintains locally formatted documents reflecting approval status of all District projects in the Master Plan
• Develops reports from researched material, providing information and recommendations relative to the Facilities Planning department, including reports to the Board of Education
• Collaborates with administration, faculty, and staff to ensure adequate future college facilities are provided.
• Reviews and analyzes contracts for the engagement of professional services
• Researches and applies district policy, materials, opinions, and trends regarding planning matters
• Inspect facilities and provide recommendations concerning alteration and repair projects
• Review completed planning documents to assure compliance with established codes and design standardsGeneral Supervision and Management
• Provides leadership and oversees the work of the Coordinators of Facilities Planning for the Facilities Planning Department
• Providing direction, on-going monitoring, and support for the Facilities Planning DepartmentService Excellence
• Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the CollegeSupervision Works under the general supervision of Executive Director of Institutional and Strategic Development

Required Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, or related field
• Ten (10) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
• Three (3) years’ experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others; leading projects or processes)
• Working experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation, Adobe Illustrator, or Publisher Software’sDesired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
• Master’s degree in architecture, planning or related discipline
• Experience working in Higher Education, preferably at the community college level

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Institutional and Strategic Development, the Manager of Facilities Planning is responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering all facilities planning activities related to new construction, renovation of existing space, relocatable classrooms, and other support activities of the College. This role is tasked with planning activities, solving complex problems, and making recommendations for use of new space.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
• Knowledge of laws, codes, rules, regulations, and pending legislation affecting planning activities, long-range facilities planning and requirements
• Knowledge of local governmental operations, and how that applies to funding, management, governance, and policy
• Knowledge of planning information sources and research techniques
• Skilled in record-keeping techniques
• Skilled in oral and written communications
• Skilled in research methods and report preparation techniques
• Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relations with diverse populations
• Skilled using enterprise systems, CAD Systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
• Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
• Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
• Ability to work independently and delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverablesAccommodations:
