Working with us, you will:
Analyze, interpret, interrelate, evaluate and produce analytical products with information using statistical techniques.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems or inconsistencies.
Work with project teams/clients to ensure data accuracy, prioritize project and information needs, locate and define new process improvement opportunities and promote best practices for collecting and reporting on data.
Turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.
Design effective visualizations of data and information.
Research and develop custom information analysis and reporting solutions.
Design, build and maintain technology solutions (including business processes) in collaboration with internal groups and interdisciplinary project teams.
Provide technical training and information mentoring to SmithGroup staff.
An ideal candidate has:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Two to four years of experience working in Analytics.
The ability to effectively use fragmented information and complex internal and external data sources to support decision making.
Data reporting and presentation skills using software (Excel, MS Access, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS and/or others).
Data analysis skills including decision support, relational data, data warehouses, data cubes, data cleansing, MS SQL, and Query languages (TSQL, XPath, MDX, Alteryx and/or others).
Demonstrated graphic communication skills.
Strong facilitation skills.
Affinity for working in a team oriented setting and contributing to shared knowledge, best practices and organizational awareness.
Ability to develop written and oral narratives that clearly explain technical concepts to the layperson.
The ability to set priorities, multitask and work independently on quick turn-around requests.
Familiarity with Universities and colleges, institutional research and/or facility space inventories; experience in Offices of Institutional Research or Facilities Space Management or higher educational planning fields a plus, but not necessary.
