Job Duties

Under the general direction of the Director of Facilities Planning ,Design and Construction and in collaboration with the Project Managers; the Financial Analyst assists the Director in all the financial and budgetary aspects of the office, which handles all capital planning, design and construction projects for the Dominguez Hills campus. The incumbent will work with project manager(s) to monitor fund balances of each project, conduct project expenditure tracking, prepare budget dashboard charts, and financial graphic displays as needed. This position independently provides professional accounting work on all construction projects and pre-construction activities, for service or purchase orders, invoices and the tracking of expenditures, as well as monitoring the draws and balances on the entire project budget. The incumbent will provide budget status and financial analysis to the director as needed. This position coordinates with the university accounting office and is guided by them in the interpretation and compliance with state and university rules and regulations pertaining to accounting procedures and controls. The Financial Analyst also prepares reconciliations and account analyses, research and resolves discrepancies and process requests for changes and corrections to accounting records.
