Job Duties

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) is seeking an Architect to serve as Program Director in Portfolio Management.  The Program Director – Facilities Planning is responsible for

– Directly supporting the Assistant Vice President with strategic planning for the UTMB portfolio of space.

– Ensuring that capital projects and renovation projects align with the institution’s strategic plan.

This a highly visible position with continuous interaction with the institution’s executives.

Required Qualifications

The selected individual must have excellent communication skills to ensure decision ready information is presented at appropriate stages for studies and project related work. He/she is expected to be current with the knowledge, benchmarks, metrics and trends in facilities for academic medical centers.

Minimum Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction or related field. Seven years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications – Prefer someone licensed to practice architecture with Master of Architecture, Master of Business Administration with architectural background, or Master of Planning. Facilities  and project management. Preferred competency/proficiency with all Microsoft products, as well as Autocad, Archibus, EDMS Prefer 10-12 years of related experience in an academic medical center with specific focus on planning and space management for research facilities, instruction space, education spaces and institutional support space. 5-6 years’ experience in planning, design and construction of healthcare facilities.
