California State University, Dominguez Hills, was established in 1960 and is one of the 23 campuses that comprise The California State University system. CSU Dominguez Hills is an urban, comprehensive public university that serves a culturally rich, diverse student body of over 12,500 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Located on a 346-acre site in the South Bay portion of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, CSU Dominguez Hills has a highly pluralistic student body, which includes a significant number of non-traditional, working adult students as well as approximately 2,000 students enrolled in distance learning programs statewide. The University, with its five Academic Colleges, has more than 300 full-time faculty members and is situated in an area characterized by an extraordinary heterogeneity of people, and an extensive array of high technology industries and professional services.

This is a full-time, permanent (probationary) position.
Department: Outreach and School Relations
The Outreach and School Relations Department is responsible for the recruitment of prospective students to CSU Dominguez Hills. The Department partners with high schools, community colleges, community based organizations and other K-14 entities to ensure that prospective students understand how CSUDH can assist them in meeting their educational goals. The department works collaboratively with other Divisions, Colleges and other Student Affairs departments to plan programs and keep abreast of updates in programs and majors that are of interest to prospective students. As such, the department consists of High School and Transfer Recruitment, Campus Tours, Early Assessment Program, New Student Orientation and the Visitor’s Information Center.
Major Job Duties:
Under the general direction of the Associate Director, the incumbent independently determines approaches for CSUDH academic engagement college based Recruitment efforts and for all Outreach and School Relations recruitment and yield campus-wide Events. Responsible for data collecting techniques in order to meet established goals and for coordinated action within the university community as it relates to CSUDH five Colleges recruitment efforts and Outreach and School Relations events. Performs complex and in-depth analysis of student outcomes.
Additionally, the incumbent plans, develops and conducts assessment, provides individual student advisement, group advisement and Outreach and School Relations seminars. This position also oversees for Event student assistants and is also responsible for the delegation of staff assignments for recruitment and yield events.

Experience and Education:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
Equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be preferred but is not required.
A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.
