CTA was founded on the promise of an integrated and collaborative design approach. For the last 80 years, our team of architects and engineers have combined intellectual forces to carry out one, simple mission: devise thoughtful and efficient design solutions for our clients. Our roots have shaped both our client relations and our work ethic. We’re a heads-down-but-have-fun, people-before-projects kind of firm. We encourage our team members to set big goals, but to keep ego out of the office and prioritize a warm, supportive, and collaborative work environment.

Currently, we have a need in our Austin, TX office for an architect with a passion for and experience in education design – an Educational Architect, to be precise. Not just any passion will do either, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about shaping future generations, by innovative and thoughtful space planning. Who we’re looking for:
A passionate leader engaged in our Education Design Studio, guiding our teams and Austin region clients in the creation of innovative, collaborative, student centered, experiential learning environments. Someone who is driven to build community connections and relationships that foster effective, vibrant and engaging schools, colleges and lifelong learning places. This is a big job but know, you will not be doing it alone. You will be supported by our marketing, sales, and graphics department, as well as, a whole office full of talented architects, engineers.

Qualified candidates will have:

-An active architectural license and a commitment to continuing education
-7+ years’ of experience with programming, planning, master planning, and design of educational facilities, specifically pre-K-12 and higher education
-Robust knowledge of current trends and recent advances in learning environments and pedagogies, plus a knack for tracking and anticipating future trends
-Comfort preparing written and oral presentations, with a desire to contribute to external articles and blogs
-Strong creative educational planning and design skills
-A positive attitude that accompanies highly effective written and verbal communication
-Enthusiasm for developing new business and a desire to network and build relationships
A preference for working in a collaborative team environment
-The drive to champion sustainable, healthy learning environments
-An interest in researching and sharing effective learning environment factors, post occupancy evaluations and evidence-based design
