Reporting to the vice president for technology and planning, the director of institutional effectiveness will have management responsibility for and oversight of all institutional research, assessment, and accreditation reporting functions in order to facilitate planning, forecasting, accountability, program evaluation, assessment, and related decisions that influence academic and institutional effectiveness. Providing quantitative and qualitative analysis to support evidence-based planning and decision making to support and respond to the needs of the college, the director will lead the development of reporting, analysis, and research strategies; and oversee and encourage the collection and use of reliable, relevant, and quality data and information to facilitate planning, accountability, program evaluation, assessment, and decisions influencing academic and institutional effectiveness. The director will create systems for effective data collection and information flow between departments, program units, and offices to enhance college-wide data collection. The director will also be responsible for designing and producing strategic and key performance indicators, benchmarks, peer analysis, dashboards, projections, and modeling to guide planning, forecasting, and accountability. The director will work with the President’s Cabinet to define and address critical reporting needs.
Qualified candidates will possess an advanced degree or relevant professional certification and at least three to five years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis. Qualified candidates will also have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and statistical software (e.g., SPSS). Prior work experience in higher education and knowledge of college systems and operations is strongly preferred. Experience working or managing an office of institutional research / institutional effectiveness in an educational setting is preferred.
