Job Duties

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Registrar, the Customer Service Assistant is responsible for providing accurate information to the campus community regarding Admissions and Records policies and procedures; disseminates information concerning critical dates and deadlines to the office and the campus community, provides directions to all visitors and callers to the Office of Admissions and Records;
responsible for ensuring that all forms that are presented over the counter in Admissions and Records are properly received and processed, if necessary that all incoming Admissions and Records mail is sorted and distributed. In addition, they are responsible for taking photo identification pictures for faculty, staff and students, training on the equipment and inventory and reorder of all photo identification supplies. This individual should be completely familiar with the campus, location of colleges, key departments and commonly used student service offices; ensures that all office communication within the area of the Customer Service Unit is up to date, relevant and legible and that all forms are stocked and up to date.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of:
Office methods, procedures and practices; correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation; standard and computerized office systems and equipment.

Ability to:
Coordinate various clerical tasks, determine relative importance of each, set priorities and
complete projects accordingly; learn and independently interpret and apply a variety of policies and
procedures; read and write at appropriate level for the position; communicate clearly and tactfully; work under pressure; exercise independent judgment and deal with conflicting priorities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Experience and Education:
Required Education:
High school diploma or the equivalence.

Required Experience:
Some experience in an office environment, equivalent to at least two years of progressively responsible customer service/office experience.
