Job Duties

Case Manager/Facilitator

• Help students determine if state regulated reengagement program is the best option for them and, if so, complete the steps necessary for enrollment, meeting all compliance requirements.
• Work with program participants, staff, representatives of outside organizations and members of the public in defining needs and planning and developing specialized program activities.
• Maintain records of all students, tracking and recording attendance in class as well as the required Case Management hours documentation
• Review and process college entry applications; Evaluate transcripts.
• Resolve conflict with outside entities such as probation officers and the juvenile court system, psychologists, counselors, school districts, parents and other organizations.
• Provide academic advising, career guidance and employment assistance.
• Document and track students that have left the program prior to completion and explore all avenues to re-engage the student for re-entry.
• Maintain a high capacity to read, write and communicate to understand directions and communicate with students and staff.
• Facilitate the smooth operation of the Career Education Program (CEO), in multiple ways.
• Provide new student orientations for our CEO program to individuals, small and large groups of students in a classroom or other environment; deliver orientation material orally and in writing for faculty, staff, students and parents; as well as prepare other materials as directed. Continue to prepare, disseminate, collect, process and store or redistribute CEO orientation and application materials.
• Provide representation at high school resource fairs, college fairs and other venues.
• Provide informational sessions of all the services we provide to area schools and community partners.
• Communicate effectively with students, family and/or other educational advocates to help facilitate student accommodational needs with the DRC office.
• Receive and respond to school district and parental inquiries regarding student, program, school or classroom activities.
• Assist in the overall needs throughout the admissions process.
• Provide case management and academic advising and support to our students.
• Assist student in answering questions concerning financial aid, career planning, counseling needs or accessing any other school resources the student may need to access.
• Help promote extracurricular activities and other opportunities for student involvement to our CEO students.
• Provide workshops, trainings and other professional development opportunities to our staff in order to better serve the needs of students
• Provide services in advancing Bellevue Colleges Achieving the Dream and Guided Pathways efforts.

Staff Support

• Track changes in the House Bill 1418 Youth Reengagement Program RCW’s and WACS by attending 1418 Convening, reading current OSPI rule and regulation changes and notifying group of such changes.
• Collect and prepare data for multiple quarterly and annual reports due to several state entities.
• Observe and gather information to help identify ways for the program and students to remain eligible and in compliance with RCW’s and WACS.
• Collect and analyze information to better meet needs and outcomes for our students.
• Carefully analyze WACS to create and implement viable methods to serve our students.
• Use a multicultural lens to assist in developing student groups and activities and establishing program policies, procedures and standards to stay in compliance with House bill 1418 WAC’s and RCW’s as well as Bellevue College rules and regulations Shares pertinent information with program participants and campus-wide audiences.
• Participate in creating pamphlets, flyers, monthly program newsletter, event posters, email invitations to events.
• Share pertinent information with program participants and campus-wide audiences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, education or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for the education requirements on a year for year basis.
• At least 2 years’ experience providing case management, counseling or other direct services to at-risk individuals or sixteen to twenty one year-old youth.
• Proficient in Microsoft office software.
• Experience presenting program information sessions requirements and material.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
